Care by species

• Emerald — no ultrasonic; oil it, avoid heat.
• Sapphire & ruby — durable; warm soapy water is enough.
• Tourmaline — avoid sudden heat.
• Opal — keep it from drying out.

When in doubt, send it back to the atelier. A professional check is cheaper than a repair.
